COLD LASER THERAPY
ROCK Chiropractic is one of the first centres in the UK to have a Cascading Energy Effect™ Multi Radiance Super Pulsed Lasers. Combining three clinically proven wavelengths allowing for deeper penetration and enhanced absorption of light.
Effective, drug-free, non-invasive, pain-free method to stimulate healing and reduce pain.

Low Level Laser Therapy works by placing an LED light beam with 3 different wavelengths on top of injured tissue.

Used to increase the speed, quality and strength of tissue repair, resolve inflammation and give pain relief.

How does it work?
In the same way our skin absorbs sunlight for Vitamin D, we can absorb light for several uses in the body. Our laser light uses three different wavelengths and has unique physical properties. The light is absorbed by the mitochondria in our cells which increases ATP production, the name for the molecule that stores and supplies our cells with needed energy. The light source is placed in contact, or just above the skin and when applied to the affected area it helps to restore normal cell function and stimulate the body’s natural healing process. Healed tissue which has been treated with laser has been shown to have improved quality and tensile strength, therefore minimising adhesions and scarring. Feel free to ask our staff for more information on how laser can benefit you.
What does it involve?
Laser treatments are non-invasive and painless. They are not to be confused with thermal or cutting lasers. Most people do not feel anything during the session. Depending on the type of treatment needed, the laser may be held in one spot, or it may be moved around to treat a wider area. Typically, a laser treatment takes up to 10 mins.

Can laser be used for pain relief?
Low Level Laser has become a popular choice for pain relief. It is effectively used on trigger points and can provide particular aid in the treatment of arthritic conditions and neuralgic pain. It works by increasing the release of endorphins and serotonin levels while supressing pain messages
Our Physiotherapist Wida Botros, is using Laser Therapy for a number of uses, including:
Circulatory disorders
Arthritis
Fibromyalgia / ME / chronic fatigue
Immune boosting
Laser acupressure
Laser lymphatic drainage
Post-surgical healing
Soft tissue injuries
Sports injuries
Tendonitis
Frozen Shoulder
Plantar Fasciitis
Achilles Tendon Strains
Trigeminal Neuralgia
Osteoarthritis
When is laser not suitable?
Pregnant women should refrain from laser treatments and people with pacemakers should not have laser therapy near the heart.

Apart from this, Laser technology is beneficial for everyone. It is used around the globe and extensive clinical research and testing has confirmed its safety and efficacy.
